Overweight, exercise, dieting and depression studies


Scientists studies show a link between overweight and depression. People who are obese may be more likely to become depressed. In addition, according to studies, people who are depressed are more likely to become obese. Researchers believe the link between overweight and depression may result from physiological changes that occur in the immune system and hormones with depression.

Healthy way to manage weight problems and fight depression is exercise and diet. It's important to keep a balanced diet consisting of whole grains, fruits, vegetables, lean meats for increasing your body's resistance to stress and keeping it high.

The psychological and physical benefits of exercise can help improve mood and reduce depression.

Lets see how it works. When you do any physical activity it automatically increases the flow of oxygen through the body and stimulates the nervous system, and this can help to release the tension held in the body and induce a relaxed state of calm, making it easier to deal with stressful situations when they arise. Hormones such as endorphins ("hormone of happiness") are released during exercise, and these hormones help to alleviate pain and create a mental state of well-being. Exercise also helps to create a more positive self-image, provides a distraction from worries, and facilitates a sense of motivation and positive direction.

Move to your advantage - exercise and do it for your pleasure. Just 10 minutes of moderate exercise a day can create a more positive outlook. You can simply increase you activity level by cleaning the house, organizing the closets, the drawers. Have a plan in place for what you will do when the "feeling of having to have chips, " hits. Try to replace this feeling with something that actually could give you advantages: take a walk, do gardening, dancing, swimming. Something that you really enjoy. Do it regularly. And as a result it will become your new good habit, a part of your life, like brushing your teeth in the morning, having a cup of coffee.

You've gotten into some bad habits, but luckily, habits can be broken. You have to have tactics in place though as you try to break those habits. You also must push yourself and not give into these feelings. You don't have to have something just because you want it. You have to make reasonable, mature, responsible decisions.

It would be hard in the beginning. Keep doing! Do not give up! Many of people have done it. So you can.
